Your Successful Website

Your website is your foundation or hub of your online operations. Everyone wants the perfect web site to house their business, product or program, and they want it to be a lead generating machine. The question that each one of them have in common is; how? How to build this amazing platform to showcase their brand. I have done a lot of research on what the perfect web site looks like for many different industry, and how they have tried to accomplish it. Below are a few steps that help people in any business model create the beginning or the early stages of their web site foundation.

The early stages: This stage of the web site game is very important; it is what we call the planning stage. During this step these are the questions you want to think about and have a clear concept of what each of the answers are:
What is the goal of your website

  • Who are you speaking to with your web site? Who is your target audience?
  • Once you have determined your audience you can think about what you want them to see first when they take a visit to your sites homepage.
  • What are you going to offer your prospective clients on your site?
  • What analytics tools will you use to gauge your ROI, and what are your key performance indicators?

The Perfect Layout: This stage for me is one of the most important stages. During this process you really want to think about what your prospective clients want to see, and what you want them to see. A few examples of web site items are:

One tip to keep in mind is there are 4 location markers to every web site. This means what do you want people to focus on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th? Once you have determined these pieces then it will be time to work on the design stage.

The Design Process: During this process take off your own shoes and step into your potential clients shoes. Base your design on what will engage them to take a closer look under the hood. Create an environment that is easy for them to navigate and even easier to add their information to purchase something.

The Final Stage: Test, test and test again. The worst thing you can do is launch a web site that has not been tested. You don’t want potential clients stumbling on a site that has spelling errors or forms that don’t work. Don’t take up their time to fill out forms that will result in a error message. If this happens you can bet that they won’t be visiting your site again anytime soon. Make sure that your site runs smoothly for them and makes a great impression for your company.
